Carl Newton is a Republican representative serving Oklahoma House District 58, which includes areas such as Cherokee, Alfalfa, Garfield, Major, Woods, and Woodward counties, encompassing towns like Enid, Waynoka, and Woodward. Born in Waynoka, Oklahoma, he is an optometrist who practiced for many years in Cherokee before selling his eye clinic; he also owns a family farm. He is married to Jacque, and they have three children. A fiscal conservative, Newton supports limited government and regulation while advocating for core public services like education, transportation, health care, mental health, public safety, agriculture, and wildlife.

Education and Political Experience

Newton holds a Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and a Doctor of Optometry from Northeastern State University. He assumed office in the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2016 and was re-elected by default in 2020.
