Eric R. Pratt is a Republican state senator representing District 54 in the Minnesota Senate, covering communities in Scott County including Jordan, Prior Lake, Shakopee, Jackson Township, Louisville Township, Sand Creek Township, and Spring Lake Township. Elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2016, 2020, and 2022, he is currently in his fourth term, having previously represented District 55 from 2013-2022. He serves as the ranking Republican on the Finance Committee and on the Jobs and Capital Investment committees, with past roles including Chairman of the Senate E-12 Education Policy Committee. Notable achievements include leading bipartisan efforts on disaster relief for 2014 and 2019 floods, nation-leading consumer protections for PACE financing, restructuring the Metropolitan Council for greater accountability, and paying off Minnesota's unemployment insurance debt. On the Prior Lake-Savage School Board for four terms , he helped eliminate a $1 million deficit, pay off $3 million in debt, lower property taxes, raise test scores, and earn national recognition for the high school. Married to Tina with two children, he resides in Prior Lake.
