Kyle Hilbert

Kyle Hilbert is a Republican representing Oklahoma House District 29, which encompasses parts of Creek and Tulsa counties, including the towns of Bristow, Depew, Drumright, Kellyville, Sapulpa, and Sand Springs.

Hilbert was elected the 45th Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives in January 2025, making him the youngest House speaker in Oklahoma history at age 30. He is only the second Republican speaker 30 years old or younger in any state since 1873.

He was born in Depew, Oklahoma, and currently resides in Bristow with his wife Alexis and two young daughters. Throughout his career, Hilbert has demonstrated strong leadership and public speaking skills, beginning with his involvement in the FFA , where he won the National FFA Extemporaneous Public Speaking event at the 84th National FFA Convention & Expo in 2011.

Education

Hilbert earned a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University and a Master's in Business Administration ** from the same institution. While at Oklahoma State University, he served as **Student Government Association President .

Political Experience

Hilbert was first elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2016 and has served in District 29 since that time. Over his eight-year tenure in the House, he has authored over 40 bills that have been signed into law.

Key legislative achievements and positions include:

  • Speaker of the Oklahoma House
  • Speaker Pro Tempore , serving three sessions in this role
  • Vice Chair of the Appropriations and Budget Committee , where he enhanced Oklahoma's budget transparency and fiscal health
  • Assistant Majority Whip
  • Author of the DRIVE Act, which modernized the state's transportation funding system
  • Architect of the Redbud School Funding Act, which directs revenue from marijuana taxes to school districts with below-average local property taxes for infrastructure needs
  • Spearheaded modernization of Oklahoma's ad valorem tax reimbursement system

Hilbert also serves as Vice President of Doughboyz Pizza & Equipment and has been involved in community leadership through roles including Camp Director of the Oklahoma Future Farmers of America Alumni Leadership Camp and Northeast District Vice President of the Oklahoma FFA Association.
