Meloyde Blancett is a Democratic representative for Oklahoma House District 78 , serving Tulsans since her initial election following Rep. Jeannie McDaniel's retirement. A native Oklahoman, longtime Tulsan, small business owner, artist, and proud mother, she transitioned from journalism to public service, emphasizing strong district representation. She was re-elected in 2018 for a second term and has continued serving through multiple terms. As executive director of Creative Oklahoma, a nonprofit founded in 2006, she fosters a vibrant, creative, and innovation-based economy spanning education, commerce, and culture. Notable work includes conducting an interim study on dark money in Oklahoma elections and supporting HB 2262, creating the Alzheimer's Dementia and Other Forms of Dementia Special Care Disclosure Act.
