Nikki Nice is a Democratic State Senator representing District 48 in the Oklahoma State Senate, which includes northeast Oklahoma City and communities such as Forest Park, Nicoma Park, and Spencer. Elected in 2024, she previously served on the Oklahoma City Council for Ward 7 from 2018, becoming the tenth woman and second woman of color to do so since the city's incorporation in 1890; she was re-elected unopposed in 2021. A fourth-generation Oklahoman born and raised in District 48, Nice has focused on food access, economic development for underserved communities, historic preservation—securing millions for sites like the Jewel Theater—and increasing minority businesses. She serves on boards including HeartLine, Inc., B.L.A.C. Inc. , Special Friends of Ralph Ellison Library, and advisory roles for Factory Obscura and Eastside Pride Wrestling; she is also a member of Tau Chapter of Eta Phi Beta Sorority and Oklahoma Sooner City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and an inaugural Obama Leaders USA participant in 2023.
