About
Aaron Bean is a Republican representing Florida's 4th Congressional District . Elected to the U.S. House in 2022 and currently serving his second term, he is a conservative businessman, lifelong Republican, husband to Abby, and father of three. Notable achievements include founding and co-chairing the Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency Caucus to reduce government fraud, waste, and abuse; serving on the prestigious House Committee on Ways and Means; and previously presiding as Florida Senate President Pro Tempore while chairing the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, overseeing over one-third of the state budget. He is recognized for advocating tax cuts, pro-business and pro-family policies, and supporting Governor Ron DeSantis' Florida freedom agenda.
Education and Political Experience
- Grew up in a working-class family as the youngest of nine children, grandson of a coal miner and son of teachers; worked his way through life building four small businesses, including a community bank presidency, an insurance agency, an auction company, and rescuing a local Putt-Putt golf business.
- Began public service as City Commissioner and Mayor of Fernandina Beach, Florida, starting in 1996.
- Served eight years in the Florida House of Representatives .
- Served 10 years in the Florida Senate , including as Senate President Pro Tempore, Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services, and chair of the Duval Delegation.
- Elected to U.S. House in 2022 ; current committee roles include Ways and Means, Transportation and Infrastructure, Workforce and Education , and Small Business.
