About
Aaron Vega is a Democrat who served as the state representative for Massachusetts' 5th Hampden District from 2013 to 2020. Born on August 15, 1970, in South Holyoke, he is a former film editor, small business owner, and yoga instructor. Notable achievements include being an award-winning documentary film editor , co-owning Vega Yoga and Movement Arts , serving two terms as at-large Holyoke City Councilor , and being named to the 2010 Business West "40 under 40" list. He is a member of the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus and has served on boards including Holyoke Health Center and Homework House.

- Education: Attended Morgan Elementary School and Holyoke Community College; graduated from Keene State College with dual bachelor's degrees in film and psychology.
- Political Experience: Elected Holyoke at-large City Councilor in 2009 and re-elected in 2011; won the 5th Hampden District seat in 2012 after the incumbent's resignation, defeating Republican Linda M. Vacon and Green-Rainbow Jerome T. Hobert; sworn in January 2013 and served through 2020.
