Joseph Abruzzo is a Democrat who served as Florida State Senator for District 25 from 2012 to 2016. Born on August 14, 1980, he previously represented District 81 in the Florida House from 2008 to 2012, serving as House Democratic Whip. Notable achievements include passing over 50 bills into law, such as the Florida Silver Alert, Florida Grandparents Bill of Rights, Nicole’s Law, Yellow Dot Traffic Safety Program, and legislation terminating parental rights for rapists; he also chaired the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee and served as Senate Democratic Whip . After the Senate, he was Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller of Palm Beach County and later County Administrator, managing a $9.6 billion budget.
