Adam Channing Gray is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives serving California's 13th Congressional District since January 3, 2025. This district in the San Joaquin Valley includes all of Merced County and portions of Madera, Stanislaus, Fresno, and San Joaquin counties. A centrist Democrat, he serves as whip of the Blue Dog Coalition and sits on the House Committees on Agriculture and Natural Resources. Notable achievements include co-sponsoring bipartisan bills for groundwater storage, introducing the Valley Water Protection Act to limit Endangered Species Act applications in cases of national security or economic harm, and legislation for a standardized wildfire rapid response system. He won the seat in 2024 by a narrow margin after a close loss in 2022.

Education and Political Experience

Gray previously served in the California State Assembly from 2012 to 2022, representing the 21st district . There, he founded the California Problem Solvers Caucus, helped establish a medical school at UC Merced, advanced water storage infrastructure, and improved water access for Central Valley farmers. Earlier, he supported Merced and Stanislaus counties as sites for Tesla's Giga-Factory in 2014.
