About
Adam Schnelting is a Republican member of the Missouri Senate, representing District 23 . He assumed office on January 8, 2025, after serving three terms in the Missouri House of Representatives . A 7th-generation Missourian whose family arrived in America in 1628, Schnelting is an Army Combat Engineer currently serving in the Individual Ready Reserve . He resides in St. Charles with his wife, Christine, daughter Catherine, and son George.
Notable achievements include authoring and passing HJR116 , a constitutional amendment approved by voters that created the standalone Missouri Department of the National Guard, improving its chain of command, budget, and mission readiness. He also sponsored Missouri's abortion ban .
Schnelting holds committee roles such as Vice-Chair of Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Safety; Vice-Chair of Veterans and Military Affairs; and member of Economic and Workforce Development, Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence, Tax Policy, Missouri Emergency Response Commission, and Stop Cyberstalking and Harassment Task Force.
