Adrian C. Madaro is a Democratic politician serving as the State Representative for Massachusetts's 1st Suffolk District, which encompasses East Boston. Born on November 2, 1988, in Boston, Massachusetts, Madaro has been a lifelong East Boston resident and has served in the state legislature since 2015.

Education

Madaro graduated from Tufts University and later obtained a master's degree in urban and environmental policy and planning from Tufts while working full-time in the legislature.

Political Experience

Before his election to the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Madaro worked as a legislative aide and subsequently served as chief of staff to his predecessor, Representative Carlo Basile. Following Basile's resignation in 2015, Madaro ran for the seat in a special election and won, taking office in April 2015. He has since been re-elected and is currently serving his fourth term.

In his legislative role, Madaro holds several significant positions. He serves as the Chair of the Boston Delegation and is a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means. Additionally, he serves on joint committees focused on marijuana policy, telecommunications and utilities, energy, ways and means, and transportation. As State Representative, Madaro focuses on working with residents, business owners, and neighborhood leaders to draft legislation and address constituent needs.
