Alan B. Williams is a Democratic politician born on March 22, 1975, in Tallahassee, Florida. He served as a Florida State Representative for District 8 from 2008 to 2016. Notable achievements include serving as Democratic Whip , Democratic Deputy Whip , Chairman of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus, and being named National Legislator of the Year in 2014 for leading bipartisan efforts on economic development, green jobs, ethics, and voting rights, including Florida’s Online Voter Registration Law. After leaving the legislature, he held roles such as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Senior Advisor for Public Engagement in the White House Office of the Vice President.
