Representative Alan Martinez
Alan T. Martinez is a Republican member of the New Mexico House of Representatives representing District 23 , serving since January 2023. He holds the position of House Republican Whip and focuses on issues like crime reduction, small business protection, and strong family values.
Born in Española, New Mexico, Martinez grew up managing a small business with his father. In 1988, he moved to the metro area and managed several small businesses, including Rio Grand Sales from 1988 to 1990. His grandfather, a minister for 75 years, influenced his commitment to serving others. From 1993 to 2018, he dedicated 25 years to the New Mexico Department of Veterans' Services, advancing from file clerk to benefits director, policy director, legislative director, and retiring as deputy secretary. Post-retirement, he founded a consulting firm aiding veteran-owned businesses with government navigation. Elected in November 2022 to the newly established District 23 seat after redistricting, he continues advocating for veterans and his community.
