Alexandra C. "Alex" Miller is a former Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 72 in Sarasota County. Born on August 20, 1973, in Garden City , New York, she moved to Florida in 1995 and resides in Sarasota. A businesswoman and CEO of Mercedes Medical, a medical supply company she helped grow from a startup to employ about 70 people, Miller focused on issues like affordable healthcare access, job creation, tax cuts, economic diversification, education reform , and immigration enforcement. She is a Christian, mother to sons Kannon and Steele, and enjoys cinema, fitness, reading, family time, traveling, and yoga. Notable community service includes past board chair of the Humane Society of Sarasota County and vice chair of Sarasota Memorial Hospital board .
