Alice Wade

Alice Wade is an American aerospace engineer and Democratic politician serving as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Born in 2001 or 2002, she represents the Strafford 15th district and assumed office on December 4, 2024. Wade is openly transgender and was among the first Generation Z members elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

Wade moved to Dover, New Hampshire, in 2015 with her family and has been deeply involved in her local community. She serves as Vice Chair of the Dover Committee for Racial Equity and Inclusion and is a member of the Strafford County Democrats Executive Committee. She founded the Sally Ride Fellowship, a program connecting underrepresented students with internships in the aerospace industry, reflecting her commitment to education and opportunity.

Outside of her professional life, Wade enjoys writing historical fiction, exploring Dover's scenic trails, creating planted aquariums, and high-powered rocketry. She lives in Dover with her fiancé, Ian, a graduate student at the University of New Hampshire.

Education

Wade earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.

Political Experience

Wade was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 2024. During the 2025 legislative session, she filed legislation addressing affordable housing and lead poisoning, and worked across party lines to pass a bill honoring Gold Star Families that had been stalled for 13 years.

Her legislative priorities include addressing the climate crisis, improving access to affordable housing, and making childcare and healthcare more accessible. In June 2025, she opened an exploratory committee to run for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Hampshire's 1st congressional district in the 2026 election.
