About

Alissa Keny-Guyer is a former Democratic state representative who served Oregon House District 46 from 2011 to 2021. A lifelong progressive, she received nominations from multiple parties including the Working Families Party, Independent Party of Oregon, and Republicans under Oregon's fusion voting system, and ran unopposed in every primary and general election. Notable achievements include chairing the House Committee on Human Services & Housing , where she championed bills for affordable housing, homelessness solutions, and COVID-related funding for back-rent and motel shelters. She earned high ratings from the Oregon League of Conservation Voters, including awards for the Toxic-Free Children’s Act, and served as Vice President of the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators. Since 2021, she has lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, serving as senior advisor to the Oregon Department of Human Services director until July 2021, and currently on the New Mexico Housing Trust Fund Advisory Board, City of Santa Fe Community Development Commission, and boards of the Penney Family Fund.

  • Education: Earned a Master's in Public Health; worked in Indonesia, Hawaii , and California before moving to Portland in 1994.
  • Political Experience: Appointed to Oregon House District 46 by Multnomah County Commission in 2011; served on committees including Human Services & Housing , Health Care , Early Childhood & Family Support, Energy, Environment & Water, Revenue, and Consumer Affairs & Government Efficiency , plus Ways & Means Joint Subcommittee for Human Services. Focused on sustainable economy, infrastructure, education, health care, housing, and revenue reforms for equity and climate action.
