Alon Carl Wieland was born on April 26, 1935, and was an American politician from North Dakota. A Republican, he was a dedicated public servant who held multiple leadership positions throughout his career. He resided in West Fargo and was active in both state and county governance for several decades.

Education

Wieland was an alumnus of North Dakota State University, where he earned both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree. He also attended Fargo Central High School.

Political Experience

Wieland served as a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives representing District 13 from 2002 to 2014, a 12-year tenure in the state legislature. Prior to his time in the House, he served as a Cass County commissioner from 1983 to 2003, bringing nearly two decades of county-level experience to his resume. Beyond his elected positions, he was a member of the Cass County Social Service Board and served as president of the North Dakota County Commissioners Association, reflecting his leadership standing among county officials statewide. He was also affiliated with the 311th General Hospital Reserves.
