Alvin A. Jaeger is a Republican politician who served as the 14th Secretary of State of North Dakota from 1993 to 2023. Elected in 1992 and re-elected eight times , he oversaw elections, candidate filings, campaign disclosures, business records, notaries, lobbyists, and contractors. He also served on boards like the Emergency Commission, State Historical Board, and Board of University and School Lands. A Beulah native and son of a coal miner, Jaeger retired at the end of 2022 and did not run for re-election.
