Amanda McGill Johnson is a former Nebraska state senator and current member of the Millard Public Schools Board of Education. She represented Nebraska's 26th Legislative District as a nonpartisan legislator from 2007 to 2015. Notable achievements include serving as Chair of the Urban Affairs Committee , membership on the Business and Labor and Judiciary Committees, and authoring the children's book Unicameral and You: Collaborating for the Common Good in Nebraska's Capitol . She currently serves as Executive Director of Nebraska Cures.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Graduated from Millard North High School ; earned a degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln .
  • Early Career: Television reporter at KCAU and KOLN ; Communications Director for the Nebraska Democratic Party; District Director for Rep. Brad Ashford.
