Amy Stephens is a Republican who served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 2006 to 2014, initially representing House District 20 and later House District 19 following redistricting. She was House Majority Leader from 2010 to 2012, becoming the third female to hold that position in Colorado history, and played key roles in health policy, including bipartisan sponsorship of legislation creating the Connect for Health Colorado insurance marketplace and elder abuse reporting requirements. After leaving the legislature due to term limits, she worked in public policy at Focus on the Family , joined Dentons as Principal in Public Policy and Regulation, served as a policy adviser at the Colorado Health Institute, and was a board member of the National Conference of State Legislatures and Women’s Legislative Network.
