Andrew Thomas Matthews is a Republican politician currently serving as the 23rd Controller of Nevada since January 2023. He previously represented Nevada Assembly District 37 from 2020 to 2022. Notable achievements include launching the Nevada Open Finance Portal in 2024 for enhanced government spending transparency, earning Policy Champion of the Year from Americans for Prosperity and the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business for his 2021 legislative work, and receiving the highest votes of any Nevada Republican in the 2022 election. He announced his re-election bid for Controller in 2026.
