Biography

Angela "Angie" Craig, born on February 14, 1972, in West Helena, Arkansas, is a Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party member serving as the U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District since 2019. Raised by a single mother in a mobile home park, she learned the value of hard work early in life. Craig began her career as a journalist before transitioning into corporate communications, notably working at St. Jude Medical in Minnesota from 2005 to 2017. She is the first openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress from Minnesota and the first lesbian mother to serve in Congress. Craig and her wife, Cheryl Greene, have four adult sons and three grandchildren.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Memphis, 1994.

• Political Experience:

  • Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018, representing Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District.
  • Serves as the Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee since December 2024.

  • Authored the Affordable Insulin Now Act to cap insulin costs at $35 per month for seniors on Medicare, which was signed into law.
