About

Arturo Alonso Sandoval is a Democratic Representative for District 89 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, serving south Oklahoma City since 2022. A first-generation American and bilingual son of immigrant parents from Mexico, he grew up on the south side of Oklahoma City, facing structural injustices that instilled values of learning, resilience, and service. As one of the youngest elected officials in the legislature, he advocates for working-class people, including Latino and Hispanic communities often overlooked in Oklahoma politics. Notable positions include Minority Caucus Secretary and committees on A&B Natural Resources, Commerce and Economic Development Oversight, Government Modernization and Technology, and Utilities; he also chairs the NHCSL’s Broadband and Technology Task Force.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma ; High School Diploma from Santa Fe South High School .
  • Political Experience: Elected to Oklahoma House of Representatives, District 89 ; previous focus on Criminal Justice/Public Safety.
