Biography
August Lee Pfluger, born on December 28, 1977, in Houston, Texas, is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas's 11th congressional district since January 3, 2021. A seventh-generation Texan, he grew up in San Angelo, where he attended Central High School, playing quarterback for the football team and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.
Pfluger dedicated nearly two decades to the United States Air Force, serving as a decorated fighter pilot with over 300 combat hours against ISIS. He commanded hundreds of combat airmen and held positions in the Pentagon and NATO Command. In 2019, he served as a national security advisor on President Donald Trump's National Security Council. After leaving active duty, he continued his service in the Air Force Reserve, attaining the rank of Colonel.
In Congress, Representative Pfluger is a strong advocate for national security, promoting agriculture, protecting the unborn, ensuring energy prosperity, and securing the borders. He serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Committee on Homeland Security, where he is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Intelligence and Counterterrorism. He is also a co-leader of the Texas Ag Task Force and a member of the Republican Whip Team.
Pfluger resides in San Angelo with his wife, Camille, and their three daughters, Vivian, Caroline, and Juliana.
