About
Bernie Moreno, born on February 14, 1967, in Bogotá, Colombia, immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of five and became a U.S. citizen at 18. He is married to Bridget Moreno, and together they have four children. Before entering politics, Moreno was a successful businessman, notably in the automotive and blockchain industries. In 2005, he purchased his first car dealership in North Olmsted, Ohio, and expanded it into one of the largest dealership groups in the country, employing over 1,000 Ohioans. In 2018, he co-founded CHAMPtitles, a digital title management firm, and later served as its chairman.
In 2024, Moreno was elected as the U.S. Senator for Ohio, defeating incumbent Democrat Sherrod Brown. His victory marked a significant shift in Ohio's political landscape and contributed to the Republican Party gaining control of the Senate. Moreno is the first Latino to represent Ohio in the U.S. Senate.
