About
Bethany A. Hall-Long is a Democratic politician who represented District 10 in the Delaware Senate from 2009 to 2017. Born on November 12, 1963, in Sussex County, Delaware, she served in the Delaware House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009, as Lieutenant Governor from 2017 to 2025, and briefly as Governor for two weeks in January 2025 following John Carney's resignation. Notable achievements include leading the Behavioral Health Consortium to address the opioid epidemic and mental health, co-chairing the Pandemic Resurgence Advisory Committee, serving as principal investigator for the Delaware Medical Reserve Corps, and acting as National Co-Chair of Million Women Mentors to promote women in STEM.
