Education and Political Experience
- Finstad graduated from college before entering professional roles in agriculture and policy.
- Post-graduation, he worked in human resources at Christensen Family Farms, as an area director for the Minnesota Farm Bureau, and as an agricultural advisor for Congressman Mark Kennedy.
- Elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2002, serving from 2003 to 2009; during his final term, he was assistant minority leader and served on the Rural Health Advisory Committee under Governor Tim Pawlenty.
