Biography
Representative Brett Guthrie, born on February 18, 1964, in Florence, Alabama, is a Republican serving Kentucky's 2nd Congressional District since 2009. The district encompasses central Kentucky, including Fort Knox, Owensboro, Bowling Green, and parts of eastern Louisville. Before his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, Guthrie served in the Kentucky State Senate from 1999 to 2008. In December 2024, he was appointed Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, overseeing areas such as energy, healthcare, telecommunications, and consumer product safety. ,
