Biography
Brittany Pettersen, born on December 6, 1981, in Jefferson County, Colorado, is a Democratic U.S. Representative serving Colorado's 7th Congressional District since January 3, 2023. She is the first woman to represent this district, which includes Jefferson, Broomfield, Lake, Park, Teller, Chaffee, Fremont, and Custer counties. Before her election to Congress, Pettersen served in the Colorado State Legislature for a decade, holding positions in both the House of Representatives and the State Senate. Throughout her legislative career, she has been a strong advocate for issues such as healthcare reform, education, and combating the opioid epidemic—a cause deeply personal to her due to her mother's struggle with addiction.
