David F. DeCoste

Representative David F. DeCoste is a Republican member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives representing the 5th Plymouth District, which encompasses Hanover, Rockland, and his hometown of Norwell.

DeCoste first assumed office on January 7, 2015, succeeding Rhonda Nyman. He has built a strong electoral record, winning all 13 total contests he has participated in, including 6 general elections and 7 primary elections through 2024.

Education and Political Experience

DeCoste holds degrees from both Boston University and Northeastern University, and is a graduate of Norwell High School.

Beyond his legislative role, DeCoste brings significant public service experience. He is a twenty-two year veteran of the United States Army, having achieved the rank of Major. In his professional career, he works as an Accounting Controller.

DeCoste maintains his legislative office at the State House, located at 24 Beacon Street, Room 542, in Boston, Massachusetts.
