Biography
Don Davis, born on August 29, 1971, in Snow Hill, North Carolina, has dedicated his life to public service as a veteran, educator, and politician. After working in the tobacco fields during his youth, he attended the United States Air Force Academy, graduating in 1994 and serving as a commissioned officer for eight years. His military roles included coordinating Air Force One operations at Andrews Air Force Base and serving as a mortuary officer supporting families of fallen service members.
Transitioning to academia, Davis became an assistant professor of Aerospace Studies at East Carolina University, where he taught national security affairs and leadership courses. His commitment to education spans over two decades, during which he has mentored numerous students.
In 2001, at the age of 29, Davis was elected as the youngest mayor of Snow Hill, serving for seven years. He later represented North Carolina's 5th district in the State Senate from 2009 to 2011 and again from 2013 to 2023. In 2022, Davis was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing North Carolina's 1st Congressional District.
Davis is married to Yuvonka, and they have three sons: Ryan, Justin, and Kyler. The family resides in Greene County, North Carolina.
