Biography

Frank Dean Lucas, born on January 6, 1960, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, is a fifth-generation Oklahoman whose family has farmed in the state for over a century. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1982. Lucas began his political career in the Oklahoma State House of Representatives, serving from 1988 to 1994. In 1994, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in a special election and has since been re-elected to represent Oklahoma's 3rd Congressional District. This district encompasses 32 counties in northern and western Oklahoma, covering nearly half the state's land mass and is one of the largest agricultural regions in the nation.

    • Oklahoma State House of Representatives, 1988–1994.

Lucas continues to reside in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, with his wife, Lynda. They have three children and five grandchildren and are active members of the First Baptist Church in Cheyenne.
