Biography
Gabe Evans, born on July 28, 1986, in Aurora, Colorado, is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Colorado's 8th Congressional District since January 3, 2025. The district encompasses most of Adams County, Weld County up to and including Greeley, and part of Larimer County, including Berthoud.
Evans is the grandson of Mexican immigrants and a Colorado native. He has dedicated his career to public service, including roles in the military, law enforcement, and state politics. Prior to his congressional tenure, he served in the Colorado House of Representatives for District 48 from January 9, 2023, to January 2, 2025.
In the 2024 election, Evans unseated Democratic incumbent Yadira Caraveo, marking a significant victory for Republicans in a highly competitive district.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Evans was home-schooled and later graduated cum laude from Patrick Henry College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government.
Military Service: He served 12 years in the U.S. Army and Colorado Army National Guard as a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot and company commander. His service included a combat deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom and participation in wildfire and search-and-rescue missions in Colorado.
Law Enforcement: Evans joined the Arvada Police Department in 2011, serving for over a decade and reaching the rank of lieutenant. His roles included regional coordinator for the 1st Judicial District’s Critical Accident Response Team and night shift watch commander.
