Biography
Jacob Daniel Auchincloss, born on January 29, 1988, in Newton, Massachusetts, is an American politician, businessman, and military officer serving as the U.S. Representative for Massachusetts's 4th congressional district since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served on the Newton City Council from 2015 to 2021. Raised in Newton, he is the son of a surgeon and a scientist, and he grew up in the Jewish faith. After graduating from Harvard College, Auchincloss joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where he commanded infantry in Afghanistan and special operations in Panama. He currently holds the rank of major in the Marine Corps Reserve. In Congress, Auchincloss focuses on infrastructure, housing, life sciences, and energy policy.
