Biography
Jason Crow, born on March 15, 1979, in Madison, Wisconsin, is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, serving Colorado's 6th Congressional District since 2019. Raised in a working-class family, Crow worked minimum-wage jobs during high school and enlisted in the National Guard to help finance his college education. After earning his bachelor's degree, he joined the active-duty Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division and the elite 75th Ranger Regiment. During his military service, Crow completed three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, earning the Bronze Star Medal for his actions as a platoon leader in the 2003 Battle of Samawah.
Following his military service, Crow pursued a legal career, earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2009. He became a partner at the law firm Holland & Hart, focusing on assisting local businesses and advocating for veterans' rights. His dedication to veterans led to his appointment to the Colorado Board of Veterans Affairs from 2009 to 2014, where he worked on issues such as veterans' homelessness and substance abuse.
In 2018, Crow was elected to Congress, unseating five-term Republican incumbent Mike Coffman. He has since been re-elected, serving on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Armed Services Committee, where he is the Ranking Democrat of the Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee.
