Jay D. Livingstone is a Democratic state representative for the 8th Suffolk District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving since July 2013 after winning a special election. He represents parts of Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Fenway, and the West End in Boston, and has been reelected in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024. A resident of Back Bay, he is a lawyer specializing in employment law and criminal defense, and currently serves as Of Counsel at Regan Strom, P.C. Notable achievements include co-lead counsel in the landmark 2019 case Sullivan v. Sleepy's, which clarified overtime payment rules for inside sales employees, leading to tens of millions of dollars returned to workers across Massachusetts. He chairs the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities.
