Jeff Hurd, born on August 15, 1979, in Grand Junction, Colorado, is a Republican politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District since January 3, 2025. Raised in Grand Junction, he is the eldest of three sons. His father worked as a psychologist assisting low-income families, and his mother, who passed away from cancer during his high school years, instilled in him values of self-sacrifice and integrity. Hurd is married to Barbora, a native of Czechoslovakia and proud U.S. citizen, and together they have five children. The family resides in Grand Junction.

  • Political Experience:

    • Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District in 2024, succeeding Lauren Boebert.
    • Serves on the House Committees on Natural Resources, Science, Space, and Technology, and Transportation and Infrastructure.
    • Chairman of the Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs.
    • Vice Chair of the Congressional Western Caucus.
    • Introduced the Productive Public Lands Act to reissue the Trump Administration’s Resource Management Plans.
    • Co-introduced the Gold King Mine Spill Compensation Act to aid communities affected by the 2015 disaster.
    • Advocated for relocating the Bureau of Land Management’s headquarters to Grand Junction through the LOCAL Act.

Hurd's legislative focus includes energy independence, water rights, and supporting rural communities in Colorado.
