Biography
Jefferson "Jeff" Van Drew, born on February 23, 1953, in New York City, is a dedicated public servant representing New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. A lifelong advocate for South Jersey, Van Drew has a rich history of service at both local and state levels. He began his political career as a fire commissioner and town committee member before serving as Mayor of Dennis Township. He also held positions as a member of the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders and represented New Jersey's 1st legislative district in both the General Assembly and State Senate. In 2018, Van Drew was elected to Congress as a Democrat but switched to the Republican Party in 2019. He has been re-elected multiple times, most recently in 2024. Van Drew is married to Ricarda, and they have two children and two grandchildren. They reside in Dennis Township, New Jersey.
