Biography
John K. Arch, born on October 6, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa, is a Republican politician serving as the Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature since January 4, 2023. He represents District 14, encompassing Papillion and La Vista in Sarpy County. Arch was first elected to the Nebraska Legislature in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. Before his political career, he dedicated over 34 years to health care administration, notably serving as Executive Vice President of Health Care and Director of the National Research Hospital and Clinics at Boys Town. He has been married to Brenda Ann Mengel since June 17, 1978, and they have two sons, Cameron and Nicholas.
