John Lemondes is a Republican/Conservative/Independence Assembly Member representing District 126 in the New York State Assembly, covering parts of Onondaga and Cayuga counties following redistricting after his 2022 reelection. First elected in 2020, he won a third term and focuses on reducing taxes, creating jobs, supporting businesses, protecting Second Amendment rights, curbing population outmigration, backing law enforcement, promoting agriculture, and environmental conservation. A native of Central New York from Liverpool, he resides in LaFayette with his wife Martha and their children, operating a 500-acre family farm. - Military and Professional Experience: Commissioned U.S. Army officer, retiring as Colonel in 2014; served as Defense Program Manager and National Security consultant in high-tech electronics; leader in farming community as former President of the Farmer Veteran Coalition of New York State, active with American Sheep Industry Association, member of NYS Farm Bureau, and appointed to Onondaga County Soil & Water Conservation District Board.
