Kaitlyn Shake, approximately 40 years old, is a nurse with over a decade of experience as a frontline healthcare worker, specializing in the care of women and children; she is a proud member of AFSCME CHCA Unit 23. A lifelong resident of Stratford with her family, she served three terms on the Stratford Town Council, including as Democratic Party Leader and Minority Democratic Leader, where she secured funding for public schools, infrastructure, public safety, and championed affordability, public health, fiscal responsibility, and protection of wetlands and green spaces. Elected in the November 5, 2024 general election, she assumed office in 2025 and now serves on the Labor and Public Employees, Public Safety and Security, and Human Services committees, focusing on social and economic justice, community needs, and bipartisan work in Hartford.
