Madeleine Dean, born on June 6, 1959, in Glenside, Pennsylvania, is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 4th congressional district since January 3, 2019. The district encompasses almost all of Montgomery County, a suburban area north of Philadelphia, as well as a northeastern portion of Berks County. A member of the Democratic Party, Dean previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2012 to 2018, representing the 153rd district.
Dean has been a vocal advocate for education reform, universal healthcare access, gun safety, and ethical governance. In 2021, she was appointed as an impeachment manager during the second impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. In January 2025, she was appointed to the U.S. House Committee on Appropriations, reflecting her commitment to responsible government spending.
