ABOUT
Biography
Maxwell Alejandro Frost, born on January 17, 1997, in Orlando, Florida, is an American politician and activist serving as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 10th congressional district since January 3, 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Frost is the first member of Generation Z elected to Congress and the first Afro-Cuban to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Raised in a culturally diverse family, Frost was adopted at birth by a Cuban-American mother and a white father. His biological parents are a Lebanese-Puerto Rican woman and a Haitian man. His grandmother, "Yeya," and mother fled Cuba during the Freedom Flights in the 1960s, seeking a better life in the United States.
Frost's early experiences with gun violence and social injustice shaped his commitment to activism. In 2016, he survived a shooting incident in downtown Orlando, an event that further solidified his dedication to advocating for gun control and social justice.
