About
Mike Ezell is a Republican U.S. Representative serving Mississippi's 4th Congressional District, currently in his second term in the 119th Congress. A lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and son of a city policeman and church secretary, he is a graduate of Pascagoula High School and has over 42 years of law enforcement experience. Notable achievements include serving as Sheriff of Jackson County for eight years, where he addressed corruption, reduced wasteful spending, and returned millions to taxpayers. As a conservative, he prioritizes America First policies, including border security, military and law enforcement support, Second Amendment rights, tax cuts, and reducing regulations. In Congress, he serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the House Natural Resources Committee .
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Southern Mississippi while working full-time in law enforcement; graduated from the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy and the FBI National Academy.
- Political Experience: Elected to Congress in 2022 after a career in law enforcement, including roles as Chief of Police in Ocean Springs, Chief of Detectives in Pascagoula, Chief of Campus Police for Pascagoula School District, and Campus Police Captain at Singing River Hospital; previously Sheriff of Jackson County .
