Biography
Mike Levin, born on October 20, 1978, in Inglewood, California, is a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, serving California's 49th Congressional District since January 3, 2019. The district encompasses North County San Diego and South Orange County. Raised in Lake Forest, California, Levin's mother is Mexican-American, and his father is Jewish. He was brought up in both the Jewish and Catholic faiths. Levin resides in San Juan Capistrano with his wife, Chrissy, and their two children.

He has introduced legislation to transition the U.S. to zero-emission vehicles, ban new offshore drilling along the Southern California coast, and responsibly develop renewable energy on public lands. Levin has also prioritized the safe storage and disposal of spent nuclear fuel, particularly concerning the decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. In his role on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, he has worked to improve veterans' health care, expand job opportunities, and provide stable housing for homeless veterans.
