Biography
Mike Quigley has represented Illinois' 5th Congressional District since 2009. Born on October 17, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he grew up in Carol Stream, Illinois. Before his tenure in Congress, Quigley served as a Cook County Commissioner from 1998 to 2009, where he was recognized for his reform efforts and commitment to transparency. In Congress, he has been a vocal advocate for environmental protection, LGBTQ+ rights, healthcare access, and gun violence prevention. He co-founded the bipartisan Congressional Transparency Caucus and introduced significant legislation to enhance government oversight. Quigley also played a pivotal role in the Russia investigation and the first impeachment of President Donald Trump during his eight-year service on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He is married to Barb, and they reside in Chicago with their two dogs, Maisy and Finneas.
