Pat Jehlen is a Democratic state senator representing the Second Middlesex District in Massachusetts, which includes parts of Cambridge, Medford, Somerville, and Winchester. A former teacher, she served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1991 to 2003 before joining the State Senate in 2005, where she has focused on education, healthcare, and progressive issues. She won re-election in the 2024 Democratic primary with 99.1% of the vote but announced in late 2025 that she will not seek re-election in 2026 after over 30 years in the legislature.
