Paul Bologna

Paul A. Bologna is a Republican member of the New York State Assembly, elected on November 5, 2024, to represent the 144th Assembly District, which encompasses parts of Erie and Niagara counties in Western New York.

Bologna was born and raised in the Town of Clarence, where he currently resides with his wife Jessica, a Special Education Teacher at Amherst Middle School, and their two young children, Blaire and Graham. He is also a member of the Town of Clarence Rotary.

Education and Political Experience

Bologna earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, urban government and planning, and international economy from Canisius College .

Prior to his election to the Assembly, Bologna served as chief of staff to his predecessor, Assemblyman Mike Norris, where he worked on initiatives to improve quality of life for district residents. His background reflects a strong commitment to local governance.

Policy Focus and Priorities

As an assemblymember, Bologna is committed to addressing key constituent concerns including public safety, affordability, and local control over decisions such as energy projects. He has been a strong advocate for law enforcement and first responders, supporting measures to create safer neighborhoods and ensure rural communities have adequate emergency personnel and resources.

Bologna is actively working to address the migrant crisis and improve the state's response to related challenges. He is also passionate about making life more affordable for families, particularly through policies that reduce childcare expenses, which he views as critical for helping parents balance work and family responsibilities.
