ABOUT
Biography
Representative Pete Stauber, born on May 10, 1966, in Duluth, Minnesota, is a member of the Republican Party serving Minnesota's 8th Congressional District. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018 and has been reelected in subsequent terms. Stauber's early career included playing professional hockey with the Detroit Red Wings organization and serving over two decades as a police officer in Duluth, where he attained the rank of lieutenant. His law enforcement career was marked by two violent incidents: in 1995, he was shot in the head while off-duty, and in a later incident, a suspect's gun malfunctioned at point-blank range. These experiences reinforced his commitment to supporting law enforcement and enhancing community safety.
