Biography
Rob Wittman, born on February 3, 1959, in Washington, D.C., is a Republican politician representing Virginia's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2007. The district encompasses parts of the Richmond suburbs, the Hampton Roads area, the Northern Neck, and the Middle Peninsula. Before his congressional tenure, Wittman served in various local government roles, including the Montross Town Council , where he was mayor from 1992 to 1996, and the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors , serving as chairman from 2003 to 2005.
In Congress, Wittman has focused on strengthening the military, supporting veterans, promoting economic growth through fiscal responsibility, improving infrastructure, expanding high-speed internet access, and advancing workforce development through Career and Technical Education and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math programs.
He is an avid hunter and fisherman, reflecting his commitment to conservation and outdoor activities.
